Best Food Sensitivity Test Review

Many people have bloating, fatigue, and a general feeling of being tired, and it could be related to what they are eating! This is what prompted me personally to do a Genova IgG Food Sensitivity Test. 

Why should you take a Food Sensitivity Test?

Even though I was eating my protein, healthy fats, fruits and veggies, I was still getting a little bit of puffiness/bloating and I couldn't figure out what I was eating that was causing it. 

However, bloating is not the only symptom of a food sensitivity. 

Food sensitivities can cause a variety of issues such as:

That's what makes this test so great because it gives you insight that you wouldn't be able to figure out yourself. 

The testing process was simple and easy

I have to say, going through the test process was so easy to do! Here were the quick steps:

  1. I was able to order the test online (since I am a provider)
  2. I got a package in the mail in a couple days with a test kit.
  3. I went to a lab 5 minutes from my house, got my blood drawn and in under 5 minutes, I was out of there! The lab even took care of sending it back to Genova for testing. 
  4. Within 10 days, I got my results back in an online portal! 

Quick Results

And I was shocked! I had two major food sensitivities that I was eating on a regular basis - soy and chocolate! 

Soy protein is in many protein bars as well as hidden as soy lecithin, a common preservative. 

Not to mention soy sauce that I was eating with sushi and in the occasional stir-fry for dinner. 

You can see from the picture below that the soy was a high +3 reaction and the chocolate was a moderate +2. I also had lower amounts of reactions to other foods, so this I will keep in mind to not have too much of them. 

You can see that the 0 or none detected category my body has no issues with, so that's good news.

I have been avoiding soy (and decreased my chocolate) and I have noticed I've lost a few pounds, am feeling more energized!

 I am definitely avoiding soy for the next two months as I work on improving my gut health and then I will re-test in a couple of months. 

It's well priced for important health information

 I never would have known about these specific foods without getting tested! This test was $99 plus a $35 draw fee. The $134 makes this an affordable test and helps you realize what can be causing more inflammation in the body! 

Why it's important to get a food sensitivity test

Inflammation is at the root of almost all diseases, so this is a key lab test to get if you're not feeling your best. Because inflammation in the gut leads to a weakened immune system, hormone imbalance, lower mood, and even makes thyroid issues worse, it is important to see if your body is reacting to common foods that you're eating.
